Webguide 2.0
Webguide 2.0 aims to be an inspiration and toolkit for community groups. It focuses on the information technology communication and organising tools groups are using to achieve their goals. Tell us what you think of it. Tell us what you are doing.
The power of the Internet comes not from connecting us with information but through connecting us with other people and building communities.
We wrote Connect your Community about making websites. About us and it is still a useful tool for working out how you build your site to establish your presence online.
But doing that takes more than sending emails and trying to get people to visit your website, once you have them there you have a very short time to engage them and get them on your side, our development of the Webguide will focus on those aspects of this technology.
Dive in. Start anywhere.
An important key to the Internet in its 2.0 form is that Information flows from one site to another, from one application or tool to another, such as YouTube or Facebook, to another via many different users, Bloggers, Twitterers (or Tweeters) and Facebookers. To find out more about any of those terms, use the search box at the left to find out more.
To see what other groups are doing, begin with the Case studies.
Or look up ideas around particular Activities. Find out more about Engage your Community workshops.
Watch the Groupings blog for a stream of news and ideas.
Send us your thoughts and ideas or register to join the discussion here. (Sorry, but registration has been disabled for a while as most registrations were spammers trying to break into the system. We hope to enable registration again during 2009. ) (How to register and log in.)
