Something new at techsoup
Techsoup is a way for non-profits to get legal software without paying commercial prices. Usually that means getting a disc with the software to install. Now, however, techsoup is moving with the times and experimenting with Software as a Service (SaaS) ofeering as well.
Kiwi, Rod Drury's Xero has added its Xero accounting Software to the mix. If cost was a barrier and you are a Non-profit organisation, here's your chance.
Xero Online Accounting Software - TechSoup New Zealand
Xero is an online accounting system that gives you and your advisor easy access to your bank transactions, invoices, reports, GST – anytime you need it, anywhere in the world.
Sign up with TechSoup NZ and all eligible organisations will receive 25% off the standard Xero price
After running the final panel session at last Thursday s first day of the EYC event in Wellington, I'm even more convinced that the biggest barriers to adopting new tools like this are not mainly money (although that is always a factor) they are more likely to be huge time pressures that make migration to a new tool impossibly burdensome, or institutional timidity in being ready to make the shift (disguised in many many ways)
Have you shifted to a new mode of operation using new tools recently?
War stories in the comments please.
Disclaimer: at 2020 trust we have made the shift to Xero from MYOB, it has taken, in essence, a year to complete the move and for a while we ran parallel systems while we learned how to work the new one. But it was worth it.
