Social Innovation Camp connects IT specialists with NFPs in need

This event is for helping you establish longer term relationships with people who have the skills to turn your Internet ideas into reality, not necessarily for free, but working with people who have similar, and sympathetic, perspectives on your work.

SI Camp is an initiative by the Center for Social Innovation. It's nationwide, but the first one is being held in Wellington.

SI Camp brings together people at the coalface of social issues together with people who understand how to use web technology to solve problems:People with direct experience of health, education, environmental and community needs

  • Social entrepreneurs
  • Software developers and designers
  • Web entrepreneurs

We work together to understand social problems, come up with web-based solutions, create prototypes, and start thinking about the type of organisation required to sustain and grow the idea - whether it’s a social enterprise, a non-profit or a public sector-based project.

When a social entrepreneur comes forward who wants to take a project on, we help to link them up to mentors, advisors, and potential seed funders.
