Rotorua Engage your Community
The e-Engage Your Community Conference - Rotorua 2008 is to be held on Friday 28 November 2008 at the Waiariki Institute of Technology, Mokoia Drive, Rotorua. Find details in a 280Kb PDF currently available from the Rotorua Social Services Incorporated website.
From the PDF:
This will be a hands-on event, with computers supplied during workshop sessions. Experienced presenters will take you step by step through the basics of:
- ‘Telling Your Story’ through free and low cost websites, videos and sound.
- ‘Keeping in Touch’ using free or affordable tools for enhanced communication and collaboration.
- ‘Managing Your Organisation’ with the help of free and low cost Internet tools.
The event is aimed at two main audiences. Firstly, members of the community and voluntary sector — the staff and volunteers working at the coalface of the health, social services, community arts and sports sectors. Secondly, the conference seeks to provide information for central and local government staff that work with communities and community groups.
The conference will include exciting and practical workshops led by experts and community group leaders using new Internet-based tools. By the end of the day you will have increased your understanding of blogs, wikis and other tools and acquired valuable knowledge and new skills.
Registration costs
Not-for-profit Earlybird: $75
Government / business Earlybird: $150
Earlybird rate applies before Friday 10 October 2008.
